Alma R. Santo, a lifelong resident, passed away on December 25, 2017 at her son’s home surrounded by family. She was 78.

She was born in Tusten, NY on November 11, 1939, the daughter of late Charles William Reiser and Gladys Mearns Reiser Schroeder.

Alma was a retired bookkeeper. She attended Barryville United Methodist Church. A family statement reads, “Alma was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was known for her crocheting; she made a lot of blankets in her day. She took great care of her great grandchildren, always going somewhere with them. Another love in her life was her dogs, especially her Chihuahua. She will be missed by all.”

Survivors include her three children: Elaine Reiser and her husband Mike of Jacksonville, FL, Kathy Jennings of Vista, CA, James Jennings and his wife Debbie of Glen Spey, NY; eight grandchildren, Phil, Don and Keith Kuhn, Alex Jennings, Jimmy, Jason, Hannah and Dylan Jennings; great-grandchildren Kyleigh and Donnie Kuhn; sister, Henrietta Towne of Alexandria, VA; brothers, Ray Reiser and his wife Silvia of New Foundland, and Lou Reiser of Narrowsburg, NY; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

Alma was predeceased by her brothers Theodore, James, Charles, and step-brother Kenneth Schroeder.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

The family extends a special thank you to the nurses at CRMC Outpatient Infusion Center, Mary, Laurie, Kathy, Gloriann and to Dr. Perry and his staff for treating Alma like family for the last two-plus years.
