POND EDDY, NY — Work on the new Pond Eddy Bridge is moving into the next phase of constructions. That involves moving the rock causeway away from the New York side of the Upper Delaware River so the river flows on that side of the river. Meanwhile workers will build a temporary rock wall or causeway on the Pennsylvania side of the river to aid in construction of the new bridge on that side.
Michael Taluto, safety press officer for Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, said the new bridge is due to open in December 2019, and that work is proceeding according to schedule and work will not be interrupted during the winter.
