Kartrite Waterpark to employ 600

MONTICELLO, NY — The waterpark that is being built about half a mile away from the Resorts World Catskills Casino on in the Town of Thompson is expected to employ about 600 people when it is opened in early 2019.

Ken Ellis and Arthur Berry III, co-owners of the Camelback Resort in Pennsylvania, which also features a waterpark, say the Kartrite Hotel & Indoor Waterpark will feature a waterpark that covers two acres and a hotel with 324 guest suites.

One of the features of the facility is the column-free, “barrel-shaped transparent Texlon roof that will bathe visitors in natural sunlight throughout the year. This will let tropical plants thrive inside the waterpark, allowing guests to be immersed in a vegetation-rich environment like no other indoor waterpark in the nation.”

Whence the name Kartrite? The facility is named after the fictional character Sir Kartrite Van Der Berris, an explorer whose exploits are on display at the Camelback Resort & Aquatopia.

Aquatic Development Group (ADG) has been contracted to design and build the indoor waterpark. Ellis is CEO of ADG.

Aside from the water features the Kartrite will also have multiple restaurants, a spa, a ropes course and an arcade.
