ELDRED, NY — Workmen were at the Eldred Preserve on December 5, knocking down the buildings at the facility. One of the workmen said all of the buildings were going to be taken down, but he was not aware of any plans for new buildings in the future.

County records show that there are 17 parcels in the Town of Highland listed as owned by the Eldred Preserve, LLC, with a total of more than 881 acres.

In 2016, some 80 acres belonging to the Eldred Preserve were sold to the Millennium Pipeline Company to be used as the site for the Highland Compressor Station proposed for the pipeline. The owner of the Eldred Preserve is listed as Marie Holcombe, with an address in Bronxville. She could not immediately be reached for comment.
