It’s March. It’s a weeknight. And you’re looking to go out for dinner or drinks in Narrowsburg. In years past, your options would have been pizza (Carini’s, 112 Kirks Rd.), or Chinese food (China King, 225 Bridge St. or Chinatown Kitchen, 116 Kirks Rd.).

But this winter, whether you’re looking to go out with the family, have a romantic date night, or get a group of friends together, three Narrowsburg area restaurants are giving year-round residents like me something to do on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday nights.

On Monday nights, enjoy dinner and a movie with Mom at Henning’s Local (6 Old County Rd., Cochecton Center). Their ongoing series Mom’s Meatloaf Mondays celebrates on-screen mothers, from classic to camp. In March they’re showing “Serial Mom,” “The Joy Luck Club,” “Grey Gardens,” and “Terms of Endearment.” And best of all, if Mom comes, her meal is on the house. The regular menu is offered, or try the prix fixe meatloaf dinner. Doors open at 5 p.m., the movie starts at 7 p.m. For details and reservations, call 845/252-3008.

Tuesday night is date night at Uncle Vinny’s (251 Bridge St., Narrowsburg) with an unbeatable dinner special for couples: an appetizer, two salads, two pasta dishes and a bottle of wine (red or white) for only $50. On a chilly Tuesday night, what could be better than that? I recently learned that Uncle Vinny’s has gluten-free pasta and breadcrumbs available, so don’t let a gluten sensitivity keep you from enjoying a satisfying Italian dinner. Doors open at 4 p.m. For details and reservations, call 845/252-5082.

On Wednesday nights, The Laundrette (20 5th St., Narrowsburg) hosts Quiz Night. Starting at 6 p.m., guest hosts will test your ability to answer pop culture and general knowledge questions. It’s a great excuse to get a few friends together for a wood-fired pizza, a cocktail and a good time. Recent Quiz Night hosts have included Tom Coacci and Joan Santo. For details and reservations, call 845/588-2004.

Of course, it is still winter here, so call the restaurants or check their Facebook pages for weather-related schedule changes.

If it’s breakfast you’re looking for, The Narrowsburg Diner (119 Kirk Rd.) is open every day, except Monday. The Heron (40 Main St.) and sister business the Emerald Ballroom are both closed for a winter hiatus, but we look forward to their spring re-opening on April 12.
