A few or our favorites are returning to Narrowsburg. Well, actually the farmers’ market has returned already. There is always something fresh and delicious available at the farmer’s market on Friday evenings from 5pm – 8 pm at The Union. You’ll be able to stock up for the weekend with fresh produce, meats, honey, prepared foods, etc. Often you shop to live music making the shopping chore very enjoyable. While you are there you may want to check out the Print, Pack and Ship office, or the office share-space on the second floor of The Union, great additions to Narrowsburg.
The other favorite in Narrowsburg has been the Birds of Prey demonstration, brought to us this year by the Tusten Youth Commission. Six live raptors and one golden eagle will be brought for all to see, while you listen to the amazing facts about these birds at the demonstration by the Delaware Valley Raptor Center. This free event will take place in Town Hall on Sunday, June 25 at 2 p.m. Pre-registration is required either through Facebook, tustenyouth@yahoo.com, or at the next Tusten Youth meeting on Sunday, June 11 at the Lava Firehouse, 6 pm. As a bonus, there will be a birdhouse building workshop for youth at 1 p.m., prior to the July 25 presentation. There is no charge for Tusten Youth, non-Tusten youth will be charged $12 for supplies.
All that attended one of the Act Underground performances this past weekend left with a feeling that we are so fortunate to have wonderful theater right here in Narrowsburg. The mission of Act Underground is “to create opportunities for community participation in all aspects of theater and to provide quality productions for our audiences.” They certainly fulfilled their mission with the performance of “Harold Pinter’s Nine Revue Sketches.” Well-acted, beautifully staged and yes, true to Pinter’s plays, thought provoking. Congratulations Act Underground for another fabulous performance. Wonder what’s next?
