We are truly blessed with gorgeous weather. This October, I had a busy weekend with friends up from Queens. When I was out and about on Friday, I ran into Pam and Bob DeMan at the bank. I enjoy talking to Bob, he is one heck of a character.
Lake Huntington Fire Company and the Presbyterian Church Ladies Aid would like to thank everyone who came out to support their French toast breakfast and their penny social events last weekend.
The Grover M. Hermann Hospital Auxiliary held their last meeting for 2017. Olga Viruet has retired as treasurer after serving 25 years. The members honored her with flowers and a plaque for her service
The Cochecton Preservation Society train station has been closed for winter recess. The next set of raffle tickets are coming out in December for January winners. If you do not get raffle tickets sent to you, you should call Peggy and Larry 845/932-8104. It’s fun: $5 a ticket and you have 90 chances to win on the daily number. I love when I get that envelope in the mail with a check in it.
Tuesday November 7 is Election Day, please come out and vote. The Republican club members are selling tickets for their annual Election Day Chicken BBQ. Takeouts only $10 each, and pickup will be at Gasko and Meyers parking lot from 4 to 6 p.m. Call Ed Grund at 845/252-7363 for tickets. The Presbyterian Church Ladies Aid will be selling their bake goods starting at 7 a.m. in The Town Hall.
Saturday Oct 28th a Halloween Party at The Nut Shell from 9pm to ?. There will be music from Maus Music Entertainment, karaoke prizes, costume contest, drink specials. For more information call The Nut Shell 845/932-5024 or Chris at 845/423-8544.
