I just discovered the renovated Heinle’s General Store in Cochecton Center. I am sorry if this sounds harsh but in my opinion they destroyed it. I cannot believe they could not find a way to retain at least half of the historic interior. I was devastated when I went inside. I cannot believe the Town of Cochecton allowed this. It should have been protected with landmarking etc. Shame on the residents or local historians that never submitted it for some type of recognition. Maybe it would have deterred this destruction.
