It is with great appreciation for the voice it provides us in our community, as well as the fair and balanced coverage of local news hereabouts, that I cast my vote for The River Reporter as Best Newspaper in Sullivan County.

I am also going to do something later on during business hours on my way to Peck’s that I strongly urge all of my fellow residents of Tusten/Narrowsburg, who also enjoy its pages and columns, to do; I am going to drop off the $35 check for my subscription at The River Reporter’s office downtown. I don’t need the paper delivered to my mailbox as I read it online, but simply because it is available, does not mean it is free.

To all of my fellow deadbeats, who have been reading for free, as well as Republicans and Conservatives, who rail in its columns about “creating jobs in our communities,” time to pay up!
