Peifer comes through

We live in a time when many people believe that politicians are unresponsive and self-serving. However, I’m pleased to say that I recently had an experience with State Representative Michael Peifer that was just the opposite. As an insurer of many of the finest children’s camps in our area, my top concern is the safety of children. In the past 18 months, we had two incidents where a vehicle lost control in the vicinity of a camp and broke through the tree line separating the camp property from the road. The camp contacted PennDOT to ask that they install a guardrail, but was initially told that the area didn’t meet the criteria for the installation of a guardrail.

Because there can be no higher priority than the safety of children, the camp contacted Representative Peifer, who agreed that children’s safety came first. Within a day, a representative from the local PennDOT office was at the camp and he immediately approved the guardrail. It was installed before the start of the camp season thanks to the efforts of Representative Peifer. I also have to commend Joe Bishop from our local PennDOT office who was extremely helpful in remedying this problem.

Thank you Representative Peifer and Joe Bishop, for putting the safety of children first.
