I suppose deliberate misinformation and false rumors are a part of many political campaigns, but this year there are some real whoppers going around in the Town of Callicoon. It seems people are being told that if I’m elected, I’ll ban gas drilling in the town, and then the town will be sued for millions of dollars.

There’s not a word of truth to any of this. I will not ban gas drilling, and I won’t do anything at all that could result in the town being sued. As supervisor, I will continue to do what I’m already doing as a private citizen: work to see that our town adopts a new comprehensive plan that accurately reflects the wishes of the residents, and then adopts lawful zoning ordinances to protect the safety, quality of life and property values of all the residents.
