Regarding the closures on Twin Lakes Road in Shohola due to fallen trees on Friday, May 27: I have nothing but praise for two volunteers I spoke to at the firehouse, who had been working tirelessly to evacuate elderly people at a nursing home.
However, I can’t say the same for whoever was responsible for tree removal. When I called on Saturday power was still out in many areas, trees were still down, and they couldn’t even give me an estimated time for when power would be restored. A woodpecker would be faster on a tree than they were.
