A fusion of neon and mixed media

NARROWSBURG, NY — An exhibit of neon and mixed media works by Michael Rocco Pinciotti, “The Nature of Light,” will open on Friday, July 9 with a reception from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Delaware Arts Center Gallery, 37 Main Street.

Pinciotti’s work often refers to nature and offers a unique mix of technology and the organic world. He blends natural materials with neon, metal, photography and other man made materials. Several of his pieces are documented installations of neon words and structures set against Sullivan County’s hills and woods.

Pinciotti has a B.A. from the University of Toledo and a M.F.A from Pratt Art Institute. A current resident of Sullivan County, he has spent the last 23 years in New York City incorporating neon into his artwork. He has exhibited, organized and curated exhibitions throughout the United States, Argentina, Brazil and Finland. Pinciotti’s work is featured in many books, documentary videos, major motion pictures and TV shows.

The show, sponsored by the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance and made possible in part with funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, runs through July 30. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information call 845/252-7576.
