LeRoy R. Gries of Winter Haven, FL, formerly of Damascus Township, died Friday, January 11, 2013 in Florida. He was 86.

Graveside funeral services with military honors were held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 in the Hillside Cemetery Route 371 in Damascus with Rev. Lane Jones officiating.

Carolyn “Mickey” Spellman Murphy

Carolyn “Mickey” Spellman Murphy of Newport, NY passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Valley Health Services in Herkimer surrounded by her loving family. She was 83.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. John’s Church, Main Street, Newport on Friday, January 25, at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Newport Volunteer Fire Company, 7370 Main Street, Newport, NY 13416 or St. John’s Church Restoration Fund, P.O. Box 475, Newport, NY 13416.

Bernard Roberts Rothman

Bernard Roberts Rothman of Callicoon, NY passed away peacefully January 10, 2013 at Geisinger CMC in Scranton, PA. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was 78.

Funeral services were held Sunday, January 13 in Long Island, NY. There was a celebration of Bernie’s life with his family Sunday, January 20 at the Villa Roma.

William E. Schultz

Honorable William E. Schultz of Callicoon, NY, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was 79.

The funeral mass was held on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Holy Cross Church, Route 97, Callicoon. Father Charles O’Connor, OFM, and Father Joseph Juracek, OFM, officiated. Burial was in the Callicoon Cemetery.
