On Sunday July 8, 2012 at approximately 3:00 PM, the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office was called to the scene of an ATV accident near Harris.

Keegan Lagattuta, 26, of Swan Lake was riding with some friends in the woods approximately 1/2 mile north of the Town of Thompson Town Park, when he struck a tree. Lagattuta, who was riding a Honda EX400 had his leg crushed when the machine rolled on top of him, causing a compund fracture. It took Firemen and law enforcement approximately 1 hour to bring the victim out of the woods. He was transported to Catskill regional Medical Center in serious condition. Deputies were assisted by Troopers, Monticello Fire Department and Mobile Medic Ambulance.
