Deputies from the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary at the VEO Mobil gas station on Kingston Avenue in Wurtsboro, Friday May 27, 2011. Glass on the front door of the location was smashed and a Times Herald Record driver contacted 911 when he found it.

Deputies reported that the thieves took approximately $800.00 in cash, cartons of cigarettes, boxes of cigars, some snacks and beer.

Two suspects from Wurtsboro were arrested Monday morning (6/6/11) because of

information obtained by the deputies.

An 18 year old Pine Street youth and a 17 year old Fern Trail youth were charged with Burglary in the 3rd degree, Criminal Mischief in the 2nd degree and Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree, all Felonies.

Because they may qualify for youthful offender status, their names aren’t being released.

Some of the stolen items were recovered from the Pine Street by Sheriff’s detectives. The investigation is ongoing.

Both suspects were sent to the Sullivan County Jail without bail after they were arraigned before Town of Mamakating Judge Joel Welsh.
