Honesdale Police chased erratic driver after driver did not use turn signal

Police from the Honesdale Borough pursued a vehicle in downtown Honesdale after it did not stop after a traffic stop was initiated May 31 a 2011 at approximately 9:40 p.m.

Police said the vehicle was driving on in an erratic manner on Willow Ave.

Police activated their lights to initiate a traffic stop after the vehicle turned onto Terrace Street without using a turn signal.

The vehicle fled after Police activated their lights for the traffic stop.

On Watts Hill Road a officer confirmed the PA plate and the pursuit was terminated at the intersection of Weinger Hill Road.

The Borough Police discovered Matthew Anderson, 23 from Honesdale to be the driver of the vehicle.

Anderson was charged with a misdemeanor count of Fleeing and Eluding, Recklessly Endangering another person along with several summary traffic offenses.

Charges were filed at the office of MDJ Mikulak. A Central Court appearance is forthcoming.
