Leonard E. Rolston, 82, of Interlachen, FL passed away at home on Thursday, Feb 16, 2012 following an extended illness.

He was born in Milanville, PA and had been a snowbird resident of Interlachen and Milanville for the past 20 years before making Interlachen his permanent home in 2008. He made his home in Milanville up to then making a career as a self employed plumbing, heating and electrical contractor.

He was very active in community service as a member of the Damascus Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Narrowsburg Fire Dept., Damascus United Methodist Church, Milanville United Methodist Church trustee and Sunday School Superintendent as well as youth group advisor, Interlachen Station 17 volunteer as well as American Legion and Lions volunteer and member of the Interlachen First United Methodist Church, He enjoyed being a bell ringer for the Salvation Army at Christmas time.

From childhood he always had a dog and was known for his love of animals. His wish is to have his last dog laid to rest with him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Edna Rolston; a brother, Emory Rolston; and a sister, Eleanor Buckley.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Avis; their only child, Leona Dean of Milanville; two granddaughters, Sheri Wells and husband James of Bloomsburg, PA and Lisa Williams and husband Michael of Troy, OH; five great-grandchildren, Ashley Kelch and Michael Williams Jr. of Troy, Brandon and Brienne Kaplan of Bloomsburg and Joshua Litzenbauer of Lake Ariel, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at First United Methodist Church of Interlachen on February 20 with the Rev A.C. Meyers officiating.

A memorial service, including a video tribute provided by Masters Funeral Home of Palatka, FL ,will be held at the Milanville Church on June 9 at 2 p.m. with Rev Jean Blackie of the Damascus Manor United Methodist Church officiating. Private interment for the immediate family only will follow the service at the Milanville Cemetery.
