FERNDALE, NY — The following businesses, individuals and organizations will receive 2012 Sullivan First Achievement Awards for their commitment to improving the appearance of Sullivan County during the Sullivan Renaissance Annual Conference and Expo on Saturday, March 10 at the CVI Center.

They are the Spencer Daniels Agency of Monticello, for ongoing commitment to the Village of Monticello and for many contributions to events throughout the community; Aero Star Petroleum, Inc. of Monticello, for being a wonderful showcase of best practices in the landscaping of a commercial property; Eagle Plaza Mall of Monticello, for continued enhancements and landscaping efforts; Bernie’s Holiday Restaurant of Rock Hill, for landscaping efforts at Bernie’s Holiday Restaurant while addressing the interior and exterior building renovations; Jim and Betty Lund, for outstanding and ongoing commitment to volunteer activities with the Woodbourne Action Committee; Dave and Phyllis Moore, for long-term volunteerism with the Neversink Renaissance and for outstanding leadership in the community; Laurie Kilgore, for time and artistic contributions to several community efforts including “Windows on Broadway” in Monticello, the Sullivan County Museum in Hurleyville and numerous projects in Rock Hill; Barbara Sush, for enthusiastic, long-term volunteerism in Monticello with Sullivan First and Sullivan Renaissance and for a commitment to the beautification of Monticello; St. James Episcopal Church of Callicoon, for outstanding beautification efforts at St. James Episcopal Church and for the enhancement of the hamlet of Callicoon; Keith Gilmour and the Recovery Center, for outstanding and ongoing commitment to Sullivan Renaissance and numerous volunteer activities in the Village of Monticello; and Youth Economic Group of Rural Migrant Ministries, for outstanding efforts that demonstrate how young people can make a difference in their communities through volunteerism and an entrepreneurial spirit.

All are welcome and there is no cost to attend. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with breakfast and expo. The program starts at 9 a.m. and continues until 2 p.m. Door prizes will be awarded at the conference conclusion.
