Amy R. Cease, a resident at Stourbridge Square Apartments and formerly of Beach Lake, PA died Friday, March 2, 2012 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA. She was 70.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Cease on October 12, 2005.

Born on April 21, 1941 in Spring Mills, PA, she was the daughter of Stephen Bush and the late Miriam Bush. She and her husband moved to Honesdale and owned and operated Bruce’s Halfway House. Before retiring, Amy was a real estate agent for Century 21 and ReMax in Honesdale.

After her husband died, Amy moved to the Stourbridge Square Apartments where she quickly made friends. Surviving are sons Stephen of Las Vegas, NV, James of Beach Lake and Thomas of Colver, PA; granddaughter Brook; brother Lester Kerstetter of Belvidere, NJ; companion Harold Gries of Damascus, PA, and father Stephen Bush of Bangor, PA.

Cremation was held at Maple Hill at Salem Crematory. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 8 at 6 p.m. at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4 to 6 p.m.
