Linda C. Canfield of Hortonville, NY, a longtime area resident, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at A.O. Fox Hospital, Oneonta, NY. She was 63.

The daughter of the late Harry and Katharina Gunther Schilling, she was born February 8, 1949 in Valley Stream, NY.

Linda worked for 37 years as a reservation specialist for Villa Roma Resort, Callicoon, NY and was employee of the year some years back.

She was a graduate of Middletown Beauty School. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Narrowsburg, NY, the Delaware Valley Woman Bowling League, the Hortonville Ladies Bowling League and the WIBC. She was proud of her high average.

A family statement reads in part: “Linda was a special aunt. She made the family laugh and was a lot of fun. She helped anyone in need and had many friends. She will greatly be missed.”

Survivors include nieces Anne-Marie Weise and husband Rick of Stroudsburg, PA, Jennifer Schilling and fiancé Victor of Lehighton, PA and Jeanine Schilling of Lehighton, PA; One great niece; special dog Munchken; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She is predeceased by her brother Harry J. Schilling Jr.; and her fiancé Ken Zieres.

Funeral services were held on February 18, 2012 at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, Narrowsburg, with Rev. Phyllis Haynes officiating.

Cremation followed at Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA.
