Mr. Gerald Patrick Cooper of Glen Spey, NY, a lifetime resident of the area, died Friday, February 17, 2012 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 58.

He was born October 30, 1953 in Port Jervis, NY, the son of the late William and the late Catherine Hinkley Cooper.

A family statement reads in part: “Jerry was a committed father and friend, and an adoring grandfather and loving husband. He loved the NY Giants and enjoyed trips to the games. Jerry had an amazing spirit and outlook on life.”

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Robin Goff Cooper; daughters Geralyn Hendrick and husband Jim of Frisco, TX and Diana Cooper of Cohoes, NY; son William Cooper-Levi and husband Joe of Rahway, NJ; grandchildren Audrey, Ben and Cooper Hendrick of Frisco, TX; sisters Catherine Smith of Port Jervis, NY and Rose Tilstra of Cape Coral, FL; brother Kevin Cooper and companion Jackie of Port Jervis; mother-in-law Pat Teut of Middletown, NY; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his brother, William J. Cooper, Jr.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Cremation will be at H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg, PA.
