Edward F. Hefferon

Edward F. Hefferon, a resident of The Villages, FL and Berlin, WI, and a former resident of Yulan, NY, died on February 1, 2012. He was 75.

He was born in the Bronx on February 2, 1936. He was married to Maureen Mahoney from 1958 to her death in 1999. He married Patricia Trecker in 2001, who survives him.

Edward graduated from Iona College in New Rochelle, NY in 1957. He worked as an auditor for the U.S. General Accounting Office and then the U.S. General Services Administration until retirement in 1993.

He was an adjunct professor for The New School in Manhattan in the 1980s. He was an elected magistrate for the Town of Highland in the 1990s, and served as a volunteer firefighter and EMT in Yulan. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the NY State Magistrates Association.

He was an excellent photographer and was respected as a person of integrity and great humor by his family, friends and colleagues.

Children include Ellen and Tony Frey of Yulan, Maureen and Michael Italiano of Staten Island, Patricia Hefferon and Chris Moses of Fresno., CA, Richard and Kym Hefferon of Minneapolis, MN, Edward J. Hefferon of Togo, MN, Michael and Natalie Trecker of Aspen, CO, Patty and Kevin Rice of Libertyville, IL and Peggy and Blake White of Hilton Head, SC. Grandchildren include Francis, Nicholas, Marissa and Michael A. Italiano Jr., Ava, Delaney and Declan Hefferon, and Eileen and Claire Rice.

He is also survived by brother George Hefferon.
