On Sunday July 3rd, 2016 the Village of Liberty Police Department arrested Jeanmarc Whitehall, 22 of Fallsburg NY after finding Whitehall in a stolen vehicle in the Village of Liberty.

Officers investigating a suspicious vehicle in a hotel parking lot found Whitehall in possession of a 2009 Mercury Milan that had been reported stolen out of New York City. Whitehall had initially given a false name to officers in an attempt to conceal his identity and further investigation resulted in locating a quantity of crystal methamphetamine within the vehicle.

Whitehall was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the 4th degree, a felony, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree and criminal impersonation in the 2nd degree, misdemeanors. Whitehall was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and remanded to Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $1,500 bail.
