On Thursday April 21, 2016 Troopers assigned to the Narrowsburg substation effected a traffic stop on Kirk Road in the Town of Tusten. During the traffic stop, an unregistered handgun was located within the vehicle. The vehicle was occupied by three men from Wayne County, Pennsylvania, none of whom possessed a valid permit that would allow possession of the weapon, an H&K 9mm semi-automatic pistol.
Arrested were Brett Barnes, age 42 and Curt Carroll, age 47 both of Honesdale, PA and Cody Dugan, age 19 of Hawley, PA.
Barnes and Carroll were charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, a felony. Dugan was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, a misdemeanor. All were arraigned in the Town of Tusten Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of cash bail.
