Last month (January 2016), the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office Gang Intelligence and Narcotics Unit received complaints of drug sales occurring in and around the State Route 55 business corridor in White Lake.

On the morning of Thursday, February 11, 2016, while conducting surveillance near the Java Love Coffee Café, detectives arrested two women in a Toyota Camry who were observed conducting a transaction.

Taken into custody were the driver, Rhandye Dauch, 60, and the passenger Kassandra Demondo, 34, both of White Lake. Under questioning, Demondo admitted to detectives that she had purchased a "bundle" (10 bags) of heroin of from Dauch for $100.00.

Rhandye Dauch was charged with the Felony of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree. She was arraigned before Town of Bethel Judge Kevin Rhyne and sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $1,000.00 bail. Kassandra Demondo was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree and released on an appearance ticket. Both women are due back Bethel court on Monday February 29, 2016 at 10:00 AM.

Rhandye Dauch is the teacher's aid who was arrested in Fallsburg last summer after a syringe and heroin were found in the bathroom of an elementary school in late 2013.

The US Dept. of Homeland Security Investigations assisted the Sheriff's Office at the scene with this investigation.
