On September 3, the New York State Police, at Catskill arrested Clifford A Rowe, age 57, of Green Island, New York for criminal sexual act 3rd, a felony, sexual abuse 2nd and official misconduct both misdemeanors.

The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the New York State Police, the New York State Department of Corrections, Inspector General’s Office and the Greene County District Attorney's Office into allegations of sexual contact between a staff member and an inmate.

Rowe, a correctional officer at Greene Correctional Facility, is accused of having engaged in sexual acts with the inmate on several occasions over the past six months.

Rowe was arraigned before Town of Coxsackie Judge Roberg and was committed to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $2500.00 cash bail or $5,000.00 secure bond.
