On Sunday 08/24/14 the Village of Liberty Police Department arrested three men in connection with drug possession. At approximately 6:00 a.m. officers observed three men in the hallway of an apartment building on South Main Street in the middle of a drug transaction.
Arrested on scene was Laureno Tompkins 37, Damian Flores-Vega 26, and Luis Humberto Gomez-Monzon 35 all of Liberty. Tomkins was found to be in possession of approximately 7.2 grams of cocaine packaged for sale.
Tomkins was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell in the 3rd degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 4th degree, felonies and loitering in the 1st degree a misdemeanor.
Flores-Vega, and Gomez-Monzon were both charged with loitering in the 1st degree and attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree misdemeanors. Tomkins was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and remanded to Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $25,000. Flores-Vega and Gomez-Monzon were released on $250.00 station bail each and all are due to return to Town of Liberty Court at a later date.
