On July 8, 2014 State Police at Liberty arrested Stephanie Foley, age 29 of Roscoe, NY after an investigation into the filing of false applications with the Sullivan County Department of Health and Family Services. An investigation by State Police and Sullivan County Welfare Fraud investigators determined that Foley filed false paperwork with Sullivan County in an effort to obtain public benefits.

Foley was charged with Offering a False Instrument for Filing 1st Degree and Making an Apparently False Sworn Statement in the 1st Degree, both felonies. Foley was arraigned in Sullivan County Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail with no bail set.
