State Police in Roscoe NY observed a 1998 Lincoln Town Car off of the road and into a ditch on Tennanah Lake Road in Roscoe. The driver, identified as 53 year old Anne Slowey of Roscoe NY, told police that while she was driving, she turned to reprimand her two juvenile children, seated in the rear, and veered off of the roadway. Troopers were unable to locate the children.

Slowey stated that she had a friend come to the scene to transport the children to her residence. The children were located and found to be uninjured. Upon further interview, Troopers observed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the breath of Slowey. Field sobriety tests were administered and subsequently failed. Slowey was processed at the Liberty State Police Barracks and yielded a breath sample of .17% BAC.

Slowey was charged with 2 counts of Aggravated DWI, under Leandra’s Law, 2 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and multiple traffic violations. Slowey was arraigned and ROR’d and is to appear in the Town of Fremont Court on 08/08/14. Child Protective Services was contacted and are also investigating the case.
