Monticello Police arrested Ollen Eck (28) of Monticello on Friday 2/28/14. Eck was charged with felony burglary in the 2nd degree and misdemeanor petit larceny. Eck was arrested following an investigation into 12/20/13 burglary of a room at the Heritage Inn on Broadway in the village of Monticello.
Eck entered the room belonging to a relative and stole various property valued at approximately $990.00. Monticello Police were able to identify Eck with the assistance of video surveillance at the Heritage Inn, which showed him entering the room and then leaving with a large bag. Eck was arraigned in the village of Monticello justice court before village justice Josephine Finn and released on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond pending further court action. Eck is also currently on probation in Sullivan County for a prior conviction of burglary in the 3rd degree in Sullivan county court.
