On February 19, 2014 State Police at Liberty arrested Rhonda Roach, age 53, of Jeffersonville, NY after an investigation into the filing of false paperwork with the Sullivan County Division of Health and Family Services.

Roach is accused of filing false paperwork with the agency while employed by Sullivan County as a Senior Welfare Examiner in an effort to procure public assistance benefits for persons not entitled to same. Roach is additionally accused of accessing and altering computer records of the agency.

Roach was charged with Falsifying Business Records in the 1st Degree, Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree and Computer Tampering in the Third Degree, all felonies. She was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and remanded to Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail.

State Police were assisted in the investigation by the Sullivan County Welfare Fraud Unit.
