Monticello Police arrested Desmond Williams (18) of Monticello on Thursday 2/13/14. Williams was charged with felony Rape in the 1st degree and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child. Williams had engaged in sexual intercourse with a 12 year-old female victim on 2/11/14 at a residence in the Village of Monticello.

Monticello school officials became aware of the incident and notified Monticello Police, which investigated and then arrested Williams. Williams was arraigned before Town of Thompson justice Martin Miller and remanded to the Sullivan county jail without bail pending further court action.
