Wurtsboro man arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child

The New York State Police in Wurtsboro announce the arrest of Rajendra Krishnanan, age 51, of Wurtsboro, NY for the misdemeanor charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Obstructing Governmental Administration and Resisting Arrest. Krishnanan was additionally charged with the violations of harassment and disorderly conduct.

Troopers responded to a complaint of a subject attempting to solicit illicit drugs from a 16-year-old child and then threatened the child with physical violence. At the time of his arrest Krishnanan became verbally abusive, uncooperative and physically resisted arrest.

Krishnanan was arraigned at the Town of Mamakating Court by Town Justice Cynthia Dolan and committed to Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail, to return on February 13,2014 at 9:30 a.m.
