Sullivan County District Attorney Jim Farrell announced today that Adam Day, 22, of Liberty, N.Y. was sentenced in Sullivan County Court on December 19, 2013, to 6 years in state prison and 2 years of post release supervision for two counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, class B felonies, by County Judge Frank Labuda.
Farrell said that Day admitted to selling crack cocaine on two different occasions on March 8, 2013, in the Village of Liberty. Day was arrested on March 11, 2013, by Liberty Police, after the execution of a search warrant at his residence located on South Main Street. The executing officers found a small amount of crack cocaine, a digital scale and packaging material used in the trafficking of individual quantities of narcotics.
Day was sentenced as a second felony offender, having a prior burglary conviction for which he was on parole supervision at the time of the new charges. Farrell said, “The Liberty Police and my office are committed to investigating those who sell these illegal and illicit narcotics on our streets and will do everything in our power to make sure that those who are found guilty of trafficking these poisons receive state prison sentences.”
