Kingston man arrested for bomb threat

The New York State Police – Kingston announce the arrest of Skyler D. Eby, age 19, of Port Ewen, NY on 7 felony charges following bomb threats made through a Facebook account.

The State Police began the investigation on November 12, 2013 when terroristic threats were received from a Facebook account to two targets, one within the Ulster County Area and the other within NYC. On November 21, 2013, the State Police partnered with the City of Kingston Police Department following a threat to a local middle school and a children’s home facility.

The investigation revealed that Eby was responsible for the threats made on 11/12/13 and was charged with the following: 2 counts of Making a Terroristic Threat, 2 Counts of Computer Trespass, 1 count of Falsely Reporting an Incident in the first degree (school grounds), 1 count of Falsely Reporting an Incident in the first degree (public building), and 1 count of Identity Theft in the First Degree. All Felony charges.

Eby was processed by the State Police, arraigned in the Town of Marbletown Court by T/J Claudia Davenport who remanded him on no bail to the custody of the Ulster County Jail. Eby is scheduled to return to the Town of Marbletown Court at a later date.

This investigation is continuing into the threats made on 11/21/13 and further charges are anticipated.
