Heroin bust in Liberty

The Village of Liberty Police Department Detective Division concluded a month long investigation into sales of heroin and crack cocaine from an apartment on Dwyer Avenue in the Village of Liberty with the execution of a no-knock search warrant in the early morning hours of Wednesday, September 25, 2013.

A subsequent search of the apartment resulted in police locating heroin with a street value of approximately $1,300, crack cocaine, illegally possessed prescription suboxone, marijuana, scales, and packaging materials. Arrested as a result of the raid was Donald Banner, 39, Jessica Simpson, 22, and Kathleen Reynolds, 65, all of Liberty.

Banner was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell in the 3rd degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, all felonies, three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, two counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the 2nd degree, false personation, all misdemeanors and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Simpson was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, two counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the 2nd degree, misdemeanors and unlawful possession of marijuana a violation.

Reynolds was charged with two counts of criminal possession of controlled substance in the seventh degree and two counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the 2nd degree all misdemeanors.

Banner was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and remanded to Sullivan County Jail without bail, Simpson was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and remanded to Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $3,000 bail and Reynolds was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Liberty Court.
