Wallkill man charged with murder by vehicle

On August 1, 2013, the New York State Police in Middletown, NY announced the arrest of Bruce W. Mobley, age 21, of Wallkill, NY, for Murder in the Second Degree, a class A-1 Felony.

On July 31, 2013 the New York State Police in Middletown responded to a report of a car–pedestrian motor vehicle collision involving serious injuries at the intersection of Avenue C and Bellevernon Road in the Town of Wallkill, NY.

Investigation at the scene determined that Andy Perez, age 24, of Middletown, NY, was walking on Bellevernon Road when Mobley, who was operating a 2010 Mazada, intentionally struck Perez with his vehicle causing his death.

Prior to the car-pedestrian collision, Mobley and Perez were involved in a verbal altercation involving a mutual female acquaintance who was physically assaulted by Perez.

Mobley was arraigned in the Town of Wallkill, and committed to the Orange County Jail with no bail.

The New York State Police were assisted by the Town of Wallkill Police Department and the Orange District Attorney’s Office.
