Livingston Manor car and foot chase

A Bronx man who was released from state prison last year and never reported to his parole officer, was arrested early Sunday morning after a car chase with police.

At about 1 a.m. on June 23 Deputy Sheriff Eric Breihof was sitting in the parking lot of Manor Motors on Old Rt-17 in Livingston Manor, when a Honda Pilot, with no tail lights, passed him going eastbound.

Breihof attempted to stop the vehicle, but the motorist fled towards Parksville. Breihof pursued the vehicle to Fox Mountain Rd. where the driver ran off the road and landed in the driveway of a residence. The driver bailed out of the car and ran down the embankment behind the home.

Once backup units arrived, a search was conducted and at around 3:30 a.m. the suspect was located inside of 41 Fox Mountain Rd. The suspect, Jaden Reid a/k/a Sentel Little, age 33, had a good reason to run.

He is a parole absconder who was released April 30, 2012 from Cayuga state prison after serving 5 years for attempted murder, assault 1st degree and possession of a firearm. He never reported to his parole officer in the Bronx and has been on the run ever since.

Reid, who also goes by the street name “Mega” or “Megatron,” is believed to have been hiding out in the Livingston Manor area for several months. Reid was arraigned before Town of Rockland Judge Peter Feinberg on the numerous vehicle and traffic charges as well as a parole warrant, and sent to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.

Sullivan County Sheriff Mike Schiff praised his deputies for taking this violent felony offender off of the street.
