New Liberty Police Tip Line Announced

Posted

The Village of Liberty Police Department announces the creation of a confidential tip hotline. Citizens wishing to report crimes, or suspicious activity, but wish to remain anonymous can utilize the tip line to provide information to the police department without providing their name.

Once citizens call the tip line they will reach a voicemail that is periodically monitored by police personnel, is not monitored by caller ID, and citizens can be assured that their identity will not be sought out.

Citizens are asked to call 845-292-7722 and leave as much information about crimes they observe or have knowledge of. Newly appointed Chief of Police Scott Kinne created the tip line to give citizens who are otherwise apprehensive about contacting the department a way to confidentially relay their concerns and provide police with information that will help keep Liberty safe.

The tip hotline should not be used to report emergencies or crimes in progress as the line is not manned by personnel 24/7. Anyone requesting police assistance for an emergency can still call 845-292-4422 and speak to Liberty Police personnel at all times.
