False unemployment claims result in arrest

On July 21, 2012, the members of the New York State Police - Ellenville announce the arrest of LESLIE WILENKEN, 57, of Ellenville, New York for the felonies of Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree and Falsifying Business Records in the 1st degree.

An investigation revealed that WILENKEN stole $15,392.75 from the New York State Department of Labor by filing false unemployment insurance claims while working for the town of Fallsburg. The false claims were filed for seven months in 2010 and for seven months in 2011.

WILENKEN was processed and arraigned before Town Justice Charles Dechon in the town of Wawarsing Court where he was released on his own recognizance to reappear in the town of Wawarsing Court on July 27, 2012, at 8:30 a.m.
