A Lake Ariel man has been sent to the Wayne County Jail after assaulting a woman he had been ordered to stay away from. 22-year-old John Jose Figueroa reportedly had a verbal altercation with a 19-year old woman, which then turned physical. Pennsylvania State Police say Figueroa choked the woman and struck her repeatedly. He also smashed the windshield of her vehicle.
He was taken into custody and charged with assault, criminal mischief and also charged for violating the order of protection.
Figueroa was also wanted on two outstanding warrant in Wayne County for burglary and criminal contempt.
