On 03/12/12 at approx. 5:50 p.m., the Honesdale Borough Police were dispatched to 512 Church Street, for a report of an intruder in the residence. According to the victim from Honesdale, the intruder was her ex-boyfriend 47 year old Joseph Bennett of Honesdale.

The victim also related that she had an active protection from abuse order against Bennett evicting him from the residence and it also prohibited any contact between the two.

Bennett was taken into custody and charged with burglary, public drunkenness and indirect criminal contempt for violating the protection from abuse order.

Bennett was arraigned before MDJ Edwards where bail was set at $20,000.00 dollars. Unable to post bail Bennett was remanded to the Wayne County Prison.

Arresting officers were Ptlm. Colombo and Ptlm. Saprona.
