Liberty traffic stop leads to heroin bust

State Police at SP Liberty announce the arrest of Samuel Call, 25, of Mountaindale, NY for the Misdemeanors of Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th. Also arrested as a result of this stop was Nicole Ross, 22, of Liberty, NY for the Misdemeanor of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th.

On January 25, 2012, State Police initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle on Cold Spring Rd in the Town of Liberty for speeding. The driver was identified as Samuel Call and the subsequent interview revealed that Call appeared to be impaired. Call was given a series of sobriety tests, and was subsequently found to be impaired by drugs. A search of the car revealed him to be in possession of a small quantity of heroin.

A subsequent search of the passenger Nicole Ross found her to unlawfully possess one suboxone sublingual tab.

Both Call and Ross were arrested and processed at SP Liberty. Both defendants were released on appearance tickets to reappear in the Town of Liberty Court on February 9, 2012.
