Responding to a report of a domestic dispute, Pennsylvania State Police trooper John Chervanka went to the home of a neighbor of Tammy and Christopher Johnson on August 29. Christpher, 45, left the residence but shortly returned in his own car, and threatened to end his own live and destroy the couple's home on Pine Mill Road in Equinunk.
According to the police report, Chervanka discovered Christopher as he was exiting his home with a metal fuel container, pouring liquid from the interior of the house to the exterior. Christopher then lit a match to set fire to the residence.
The Equinunk Fire Departemnt was summoned to the scene.
Christopher ran to his vehicle, failed to obey commands given by the trooper, and attempted to flee the scene. Chervanka deployed a taser to subdue Christopher and took him into custody.
Christody was charged with simple assault, harrasment, arson and resisting arrest. He was arrainged before MDJ Ron Edwards and remanded to Wayne County Prison on $275,000 bail.
