State Police in Wurtsboro attempted to pull over a vehicle in the Village of Wurtsboro on August 5 for a Vehicle and Traffic Violation. The operator, Joseph Boraski, a 34 year old Port Chester resident, refused to pull over and led troopers in a pursuit that terminated in Ellenville when he struck a utility pole.
State Police were assisted by Ellenville PD units and he was taken into custody after a brief foot chase. Boraski was arrested for DWI, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Reckless Endangerment, and Obstructing Governmental Administration. Boraski was also wanted by the Orange County Sheriff's Department for Felony Probation Violation and Felony DWI by the State Police in Middletown. He was arraigned in the Town of Mamakating and remanded to Sullivan County Jail, no bail.
