On Sunday, May 17 I took Dolores Manaseri and Dotty Schlegel down to Ringwood, NJ to visit Fr. Bill. As I was driving, I was listening to Dotty tell stories about her early life with Woody and all her dogs, and I got very lost. She would ask me, “Does this look familiar?” “Nope.” “Does this?” “Nope.” We both started praying.

Turns out, we were going the wrong way on Route 17. Unfortunately, you cannot get off quickly at the next exit and go back, because it’s miles and miles between exits. Two-and-a-half hours later we finally got there, and Fr. Bill had such a smile on his face when we walked it. We spent our time with him out in the garden and had such a nice day.

Fr. Bill asked me to tell everyone that he sends his love and he’s holding his own. He enjoys getting cards, but he has a hard time reading handwriting. So if you want to send him a card, print clearly. His address is Fr. William Scully, Holy Name Friary, 2 Morris Rd., Ringwood, NJ 07456.

Supervisor Gary Maas would like to thank everyone in the town who came out on the 16th and 17th for town clean-up day. “It was very successful; we got lots of high-quality refuse.” The town collected eight dumpsters full.

Grover Hermann Auxiliary/CRMC would like to thank everyone who helped to make the health fair, children’s fair and craft show such a wonderful event. Despite the weather everyone had a great time, and the chicken barbeque was out-of-this-world excellent. The children enjoyed face painting and games, and a good time was had by all. The 50/50 was won by yours truly, so I donated it back, because it’s for a good cause.

Grand Knight Teddy Laffin of the Knights of Columbus would like to thank everyone who came out and made the German dinner a fun time and a great success. I must say the food was delicious—the pork was so tender. The proceeds will help in giving Knights’ family members scholarships to go to collage.

On Saturday, July 11, Lake Huntington’s Fireman’s Field Day will be held. If you are interested in being a vendor, call 845/932-8444

The Sullivan West Student Council is sponsoring a clothing fundraiser at the high school in Lake Huntington. A dumpster next to the parking circle at the high school until Monday, May 25.

Have a great week and email leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have news.
