HONESDALE, PA — The emergency shelter, “Warmth in the Night” will open its doors officially on Monday, December 1 from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church in Honesdale. The shelter will be open on those nights when the temperature and/or wind-chill drops below zero degrees (F). Volunteers from the church and community will staff the shelter. They are working with the local emergency crews, borough police and other agencies to provide safety for community residents. There will be a shower facility available this year.
Grace Church is located at the corner of Church and 9th streets in Honesdale. For information, or to volunteer, call the parish office at 570/253-2760.
