HAWLEY, PA — For the sixth year, the Country Club at Woodloch Springs will host its annual Pinstripes Golf Classic on August 6 with a shotgun start beginning at 12 noon. The tournament is an 18-hole scramble featuring an amateur foursome plus one current Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders player or coach. All proceeds will go to benefit the Cody Miley Memorial Art Scholarship Fund that has been established for Cody Miley, the 17-year-old son of Railriders manager David Miley, who died in a car accident in 2008.
The cost for each player is $250, or $1,000 for a full foursome, and sponsorship opportunities are available. Included the fee are a gift bag, lunch, cocktails, dinner, awards and a raffle ticket. There will be awards, prizes, memorabilia and a chance to mingle with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders and baseball legends of the past. A “beer tasting” tee and “moon shot” hole are just some of the unique perks that golfers can anticipate. The Railriders are the triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees.
