WOODRIDGE, NY — The Woodridge Kiwanis Club held its annual scholarship dinner at the Woodridge Family Restaurant, where five $1,000 scholarships were given to seniors from the Fallsburg Central School District.

The winners are Adham AboHussien, son of Tony and Mai AboHussien of Woodridge; Tiffani Suhm, daughter of Tania Miller; Ilyssa Weiner, daughter of Michael and Jill Weiner; Samantha Wiles, daughter of Shawn and Lisa Wiles; and Kirsten Jacobsen, daughter of Ed and Debbie Jacobsen. Coincidentally all winners this year were from Woodridge.

The eligibility for a Kiwanis scholarship is based on academics, extracurricular activities and community service. The students found time to volunteer for the good of their school and community. Their activities are too numerous to mention individually, but they include sports, music, volunteer work and the arts.

Adham will be attending SUNY Geneseo and plans to study international relations; Tiffani will attend SUNY Oswego to study business management and mathematics; Ilyssa will attend SUNY Oswego and will study broadcasting and mass communication with a minor in music; Samantha plans to go to Ithaca College and major in business administration; and Kirstin will attend Norwich College to study education, majoring in physical education with a minor in health education.
